Great theory. The eye also reminded me to the movie "A Series of Unfortunate Events", where it was a secret symbol used by arsonists. The film is also just marginally less bleak than Little Nightmares.

What if the porcelain kid tied to the chesspiece was starting to turn into a real kid like pinocchio and someone killed him to prevent this from happening. After all every character in this game absolutely hates real children. All porcelain kids have no eyes at all. They're just holes in their head. But this one does. What if he saw something that he wasn't meant to see and his eyes turned real? Like Medusa but in reverse. I think the child's eyes are important. The whole world here is obsessed with eyes. I also love how the School and the hospital, which are two places that should help people and save lives are instead hellscapes where the function of the institution is almost turned upside down. The shool is supposed to achieve education sometimes with the help of punishment, but here punishment is all the teacher cares about. While the hospital, which is intended to fix people's health with the help of surgery and transplants, is all about transplants and nothing else. Also the television is meant to spread messages and entertainment by getting the people's attention but all it does here is absorb the viewers completely and even literally without giving anything in return. In each case the method has taken over from the function. The means have become the purpose. And now that I think of it, the chessboard puzzle illustrates this quite well: you have a puzzle room that leads you into another room with nothing usefull inside, making the entire puzzle room essentially useless. The whole dichotomy regarding purpose and means also makes me think of Machiavelli. The fact that the child tied to the chess piece wears a crown might also be a refrence to Machavelli's "the Prince". Machiavelli is often wrongly thought to have said that "the ends justify the means" while in fact he never said that and nothing proves it more than this puzzle. In this world the ends don't exist and all means simply justify themselves. The chess room to me clearly symbolizes everything wrong with the world of Little Nightmares: Nothing has a purpose any more, things get done regardless of their outcome and children die in the process. This whole theory could be applied also to the Maw. Normally the whole point of a restaurant is to sell food, right? And to sell food you have to bring in customers to eat that food. On the Maw instead eating is the only thing that matters and service as a whole just doesn't exist. The chefs keep cooking tasty stuff all day long but in the end the guests only eat raw meat and in fact they even prefer to gobble a live child despite all the food that's in front of them. The guests might pay for the experience, maybe in advance, but in a world where children are kept in cages to be later processed into food and adults just try to grab you whenever you approach them, I don't hink that paying for suff is a thing. Also the idea of using children as livestock comes from "A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift. He argued that feeding poor children to the rich was a way to alleviate poverty (he obviously didn't mean it for real). But the world of little nightmares only wants to keep the children captive, for seemingly no good reason. Some are just left to rot in the cages. I don't think there is a reason. And the lack of a reason why is exactly what gives Little Nightmares sense. The adults in this game are completely helpless beings who are only able to do one thing, which is their job or pastime, and that's all they care about. It matters little to them if they suck at whatever it is they do or if what they do is useless; they'll just keep doing it no matter the cost, even if it makes no sense. And this brings me to the Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry; a book in which, much like in this game, the adults are stuck on their tiny planets (literally) and cannot conceive anything further than their immediate concerns regarding their profession. And in this book also the ends have become subservant to the means. The king only thinks about giving orders to be obeyed, to the point of ordering things that the others would do anyway; The vain man only wants to be applauded and to be thought highly of despite being the most boring person in the universe; The drunkhard drinks to forget he's ashamed of drinking; The businessman is utterly obsessed with owning the stars even if he doesn't make any profit, but he does just because he can; The lamplighter keeps loosing his sleep for a job that is literally useless, since he is the only inhabitant of his planet and thus nobody needs that lamp to be lit at night in the first place. Finally, the geographer's business is to write down places that had been visited by others and described by others but that he himself is never going to see and the only people who saw those places never used his atlas because they were the explorers themselves. All these adults only serve their ego in some way or another and all of them love to make a big deal of their pointless job. The child's purpose in the book is to learn from the adults, but he soon discovers that they have nothing meaningfull to teach him. He is taught how to love by a fox (just like the chalk drawing) only after he has left all that he loves behind him. All that he learned serves no use to him so in the end he asks a snake to kill him so his spirit can go back to his planet, which is the only place where his actions have purpose. The crown on the tied up child could also be a refrence to the little prince, although the prince himself is never depicted with a crown. Anyway, what the book and the game have in common is that all the adults are self-important fools who never understand anything whilst being absolutely certain they understand everything. The game only depicts this in a somwhat more grim fashion.

If the game can only progress via the player taking the actions of a villain or the enabler of the villain, wouldn't the real villain be the developer or writer who chose to design the progression that way?

I have a theory that the toys age over time. I have evidence to confirm this: 1. Mommy Long Leg's final design in the game, is different than it is in the trailer. This is because, it wouldn't make sense for Mommy to appear, shiny like a new toy. Not to mention if our GrabPack withers overtime then it makes sense for the toys to wither overtime as well 2. The voice of Dog Day is different, like more mature (an adult). 3. The developers confirmed that many of the toys are, BF & GF, or Husband and Wife. It we are considering the fact that the toys "age" and "wither" as time goes on, than it explains: Why the Dog Day's voice sounds so different, why certain toys are dating/married (apparently), and why they appear withered, (Poppy looks different in Chapter 3 than she did way back in Chapter 1).

My theory is that Shadow Six wanted Mono to follow her and help her get back to the real Six,and get her body back,they both tried to fight monster Six and get her back to her normal tiny self,(Mono just tried to help the real Six through the whole adventure,(they had a bond)helps her get out of the hunters place,help get her back from Thin Man and the tv,etc. Mono never tried to hurt Six,he even fought Thin Man and absorbed him/made him a part of him,just to get betrayed by Six and left alone)what if Shadow Six is angry at the real Six for betraying Mono and leaving him alone,and she is tormenting Six/getting revenge on the real Six by giving her hunger pains and making her eat the rat,lady,nome,etc,i think after Mono gets betrayed by Six,he grew up,and became the Thin Man,and was angry about the betrayal,and hunted and took Six to get revenge on her for betraying him

One thing I noticed is that all of the mascots have untouched keychains in the gift shop except Rambley and Salem. Salem has some missing, and Rambleys are all gone.

I can imagine how horrifying it is for rambley. Imagine being the golden boy. Everyone loves you. But then they nearly forget you. And I thought this game could not get any more sad.

I still think it's actually Wooly who is one of the abd huys and not Amanda. Glad to see other people don't think Amanda is a two dimensional villain. Plus I found it odd that Wooly seemed so invested in making Amanda play the role of the demon that Hameln wanted to turn her into. I always thought that behavior was too sus to think it was just nothing.

Six is not a villain trust me because maybe whenever she saw monos face, she recognized that as the thin man’s face so she didn’t trust it she was gonna help him, but not until she saw his face a little more

No wonder Six wanted the Lady's dark powers: with them she can finally be left alone, any one who approached her will die before they get too close. It's a dark resolution but it's the only way she can have her peace.

After seeing the comics, I had always wondered why 3 (pigtail girl) was in the hospital to begin with; other than her having a bloody nose, there doesn't really seem to be a reason for her to be there specifically. Getting physically bullied resulting in only bloody noses wouldn't really merit her being in a hospital, just tissues pinching her nose until it stopped. Then I had an idea after I, ironically, got a bloody nose after tripping and falling: what if she had a medical condition that caused her nosebleeds? 🤔 Repeated nosebleeds can be a symptom of a bleeding disorder, nasal deformity, nasal polyps or tumors, perforations in the septum, Atherosclerosis (the hardening of the arteries), or even Leukemia! Pre-corruption Doctor would be ALL OVER THAT LIKE THE GUESTS OVER FOOD! After his medical revelation (shown in that symposium picture) I think he would want to make another breakthrough, maybe for his practice or his ego, and 3's unknown condition would be a perfect challenge for the Doctor. The fact that 3 is kept in a "cell" instead of, you know, A BED, makes me think she was being STUDIED instead of getting medical help. Perhaps she was there originally to be cured, she seems to be wearing a hospital gown, but when the Signal took hold of the Doctor he stopped trying to cure her and started to study her affliction similar to how he experiments on the Patients. That would also explain 3 trying to escape; if you have a chronic condition that needs medical help but instead of getting help you're being studied, I'd want to get out too!

I’m a lil confused. Is?? Poppy the prototype??? Are they closely related? At first we thought the silver hand of the prototype was a spider, then it’s revealed to be a hand when it kills CatNap. And like someone said- only poppy was especially thrilled by murder. All the other hunters saw you, and gave you a warning and chance to escape. Poppy’s control over Kissy and Prototypes control over Catnap- the way the toys listen to them… kinda familiar no?

I have no where else to talk about this so I guess I'll say it here; in the mini-game with Salem Rambly beat Mollie and she lets out a very real sounding pained scream, which could also be foreshadowing to when she dies at the end of the chapter. It also implies that Rambly closed the door and killed her.

Here's information from the demo for Amanda the Adventurer 2 that I dug up from watching a video of it. It has some info you might find interesting. I'll be tracking all the Freudian slips that are either related to Amanda's (implied) past (mostly, the lines that are cut off, like the show itself doesn't want her to say them) or that demonstrate that she's just as trapped as Wooly and the Player character are and highlighting particular words. If I misquote these, forgive me. 1) I love to think of all the places I *could* *have* g- 2) This fun, I guess, but I really wish I could go see the world. 3) It gets awfully lonely in here at night. 4) It makes me think about- (the glitched dialogue later is likely something incriminating for the Hamelin company) 5) *We* *shouldn't* *talk* *about* *them.* ("them" likely refers to Hameln; notable, this is the only time in the Amanda the Adventurer series where Amanda seems genuinely scared of something outside the show) 6) (in response to "Sam" being entered as someone the player wants to see) Wait, that's- (is Hameln stopping Amanda from remembering her father, or does she still remember, but she has some kind of restraining bolt put on her so that she can't really say anything?) 7) (in response to "Kate" being entered as someone the player wants to see) I wish I could still visit her. (Kate was the aunt of the player character of AtA 1, so this game is likely not a prequel, or if it is, the player character is not Aunt Kate; was Amanda trying to use Aunt Kate to help her? She all but outright states that she's a slave to Hameln) 8) (in response to "Rebecca" being entered as someone the player wants to see) *Do* *you* *really* *think* *you* *could* *do* *that?* (This is likely one of to things: either 1) it's Amanda rather bluntly and grimly stating the truth that her human body is dead, or 2) it's actually Hameln speaking through Amanda. The implied threat in her tone makes me think that it's the second one, since all the other lines point to Rebecca Colton's personality still being alive within the character of Amanda) The new rat/possum character seems to be an expy of Swiper, given that both of its appearances have it stealing something from Amanda, but given that the symbol of the Hameln company is a stylized mouse/rat, maybe it also serves as a physical representation of the company in the cartoon world. Amanda certainly doesn't know what it is, so it's possible that it isn't originally supposed to be a character on the show.

I don't think we're the bad guys. I think we're here to free Amanda- or well Rebecca's soul. And her body being out there somewhere is unfortunately her dead body, hence the "Sometimes I can feel myself rotting".
